I am a lecturer and daughter of an old samurai family. I view my modelling and acting as further ways to promote my heritage and present authentic Japanese culture in an accessible and enjoyable manner. However, I am happy to explore other artistic ideas and have a good sense of humour, so please contact me if you think that we could create beautiful and intelligent art together.
I have a collection of over 100 kimonos and am a practitioner of Japanese traditional arts and pastimes, such as the tea ceremony and shodo calligraphy. I have many years experience presenting and performing on stage and am a member of Equity (British Actors' Equity Association). In the past few years I have also taken small roles in films and on television.
As a model, I have worked with many photographers and other artists, as well as collaborating with designers on Japan-related projects and enjoy being part of the creative process. I am not shy about my appearance and am therefore willing to work nude, but only if the artistic merit demands it and only for talented artists with whom I have a good professional relationship.

I have been modelling since the age of sixteen (in 1974); however, over the past few months I have worked with the following photographers in the UK and USA:
Abdel F Hamouda (twice), David Nuttall (four times), Rod Macdonald, Mol Smith, Philip Weston (aka PWPImages), J Roberto Castro, Vincent Knaus, John Stillwagon, Rodney Mickle, Derek Bowden, Maurice Kerr and David Gibson - all of whom would be happy to supply references. I have also had the honour of being painted by Elizabeth Meek and drawn by Dave Asthouart.
As for presentations and performances of various kinds, please see a list of many hundreds of recent activities on my website. These include academic lectures, popular cultural demonstrations, workshops, live and recorded dramatic performances and filming on location in the UK and Japan.
As mentioned above, I am a member of Equity (British Actors' Equity Association). I am also a member of the ATL (Association of Teachers and Lecturers). Both professional organisations provide me with insurance, so my activities are covered up to £5 million for public liability.
